Fans Are Losing It after unbelievable Slipknot Videos Have Been Shared Online

A collection of rare, vintage Slipknot videos from the late ’90s and early 2000s has surfaced online in recent days, causing a frenzy among fans.

Posts on the Slipknot Reddit page indicate that the videos were shared by accounts involved in a “Slipknot Trading Scene,” a community where members trade bootleg audio and video recordings privately without making them publicly available to fans.

Why Are the Videos Being Uploaded Now?

A user on a specific Reddit thread claimed that footage from Slipknot’s iconic 1999 concert at First Avenue in Minneapolis was leaked online. In response, the person who filmed many of the bootleg concert videos granted permission to the accounts in the trading scene to upload the rest of the clips he had shared with them.

At this time, it’s unclear which account was responsible for leaking the initial video. However, there are now multiple YouTube channels featuring a wealth of newly-uploaded Slipknot concert and soundcheck footage from the late ’90s and early 2000s.

Slipknot’s Brawl With Mushroomhead Fans in Cleveland

One video that has been gaining significant attention is from Slipknot’s 1999 concert in Cleveland, Ohio, where the band clashed with Mushroomhead fans in the audience who were throwing objects at the stage during their performance.

At the 9:19 mark of the video, frontman Corey Taylor can be heard shouting to the crowd, “Step up, pussy. Step up, bitch.” Shortly after, some of the band members jumped off the stage and began confronting and fighting audience members. You can watch the clip below.

Fans React to Videos Being Shared Online

The release of the footage online has sparked mostly positive and enthusiastic reactions from fans. Many are thrilled to finally have access to these rare clips.

One fan expressed their satisfaction on the Reddit thread, saying, “Honestly, I’m glad. It always seemed weird to have a small group of people holding onto old quality footage when the entire fanbase would love to see it.” This sentiment reflects the excitement shared by many Slipknot fans who have long awaited the chance to view these nostalgic moments.

Another user on the thread shed light on the long-standing practice of keeping rare footage within a small circle, saying, “People have been holding on to pro-shot footage from ’95 – ’02 for decades and trading or selling tapes. A lot of early day myths come from these tapes; for example, the idea that ‘Clown wore a Killer Klown from Outer Space mask’ was a huge mystery for the masses, and only about a dozen people had seen the footage until it got leaked a couple of years ago. So basically, it’s a circlejerk gatekeeping thing, to my knowledge.”

This comment highlights the frustration among fans over the exclusive nature of these video trades, which has kept some of Slipknot’s early history shrouded in mystery.
