Five adults were injured in an early morning crash in Aurora.
The incident occurred after 2 a.m. on Wednesday when officers from the Aurora Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash near East 40th Avenue at Peña Boulevard, close to the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood.
According to a preliminary investigation, police stated that one vehicle ran a red light and collided with another, resulting in injuries to five adults.
All five individuals were transported to a local hospital with varying degrees of injuries, according to police. Two adults sustained serious injuries, with one of them listed in life-threatening condition, while the other three suffered minor injuries.
Aurora police suspect that speed was a contributing factor in the crash, but the investigation is still ongoing.
As a result of the investigation, the Airport Boulevard on-ramp at Peña Boulevard was closed for several hours on Wednesday morning but was reopened around 6:30 a.m.
