Chesterfield Township police are searching for a woman who went missing early Friday after being hit by a vehicle on 26 Mile Road.
Officers responded to the scene near 26 Mile and County Line roads just before 4 a.m. on Friday after receiving a report of an accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle, according to police.
The driver reported that he was traveling eastbound on 26 Mile Road, west of County Line Road, when his passenger side mirror struck a white female who was walking in the roadway.
The driver stated that he stopped to check on the woman but was unable to find her.
Officers conducted a search of the area but could not locate the woman, who is described as heavy-set with dark hair and wearing a white T-shirt.
