According to a report by the Rotherham Advertiser, goalie Giosue Bellagambi is being evaluated by Rotherham United after leaving Huddersfield Town on trial.
While they consider making a possible move, Rotherham United is keeping an eye on the free agency. Following their relegation from the Championship, they are getting ready for the start of the upcoming League One season.
The 22-year-old Bellagambi participated in their most recent preseason game against the League Two Doncaster Rovers. His contract with Huddersfield Town, a team in Yorkshire, was terminated at the conclusion of the previous season, and he is currently considering his alternatives.
According to the Dunfermline Press, Dunfermline Athletic have also given him some thought this summer. According to the most recent report, Steve Evans, the Millers’ manager, told the Rotherham Advertiser, “We like him.” As of yet, we haven’t taken any action. It’s the 46 league games that matter to us. Later this week, he is scheduled to return to us. There won’t be any developments until the weekend. Undoubtedly, the building needs a third keeper.
Bellagambi would provide back-up to Cameron Dawson and Dillon Phillips if Rotherham United were to sign him.
The Londoner played for Lambeth Tigers and Whyteleafe before moving up north in 2018.
The Uganda international, who earned his first and only cap to date a few years ago against Libya, was signed by Huddersfield Town to a professional contract in 2020. During his time at the John Smith’s Stadium, he never made a senior appearance for the Terriers, but he did gain a great deal of experience from loan stints at Ramsbottom United, Ebbsfleet United, Stalybridge Celtic, Brighouse Town, Hyde United, and Spennymoor Town, where he spent time to enhance his development.
